The information and detail of this article is so much more complete, and honest than the "things are getting better, and there is no problem" glossover/whitewash provided in the home delivered paper of Lakeport. Thank you Elizabeth for honesty in journalism. - cookiebug101

Dr Zebelean is a metallurgist, not a physician. His main claim to fame was invention of the metal golf club. I would not take all of his remarks about the lake as gospel. I doubt that Clear Lake has enough mercury to contaminate the sea. - barticle

Guess Lake County better get ready for a string of lawsuits

If the lake will be poisonous to the ocean, then every person who eats food grown from the water sent down cache creek will be a party to a class action.

The statements made by Dr. John Zebelean seem like an admission of guilt and lack of culpibility before the fact.

In fact, his statement opens the county to lawsuits from county citizens who feel ill, or who have members of their families that are already deceased. There is an admission that by a doctor we live near a body of poison.

Perhaps we need to request immediate Superfund money and transfer the liabilty of sickening millions of people to the federal government and save our small county the financial hardship of lawsuits.

The laws of unintended consequences always seems to show its face in every report made. - a guest
