JoAnn -- What an intelligent, compassionate and well-informed commentary!
Coincidentally, last night I saw the film, \"FLOW: For Love of Water\", which looks at water crises world-wide. The sweet part here is that when communities from India to Bolivia threw out the global corporations that were going to sweep in and \"solve\" water problems, and when those communities used self-created ideas and small technologies, free, healthy, abundant water for all resulted.
Surely we can do as well right here at home -- as the local co-op has demonstrated! - shannon9166

with people in government who\'s answer for all their problems is \"more development-and ANY development is good developement\", because they still believe that the only thing that matters is getting some kind of bump in property/sales tax revenue (Why yes Curt, I AM looking in your direction!).

until this myth is thoroughly dispelled we\'ll be fighting- off one bad idea after another (like Home depot). - smurf
