Vermin & (Affinito)

It is clear to me and anyone living near the Lake Sands, Lucerne Hotel and The Beachcomber that the Beachcomber is the only true business in the entire area. It has fallen into a bit of dis-repair, but being unfairly located next to Dom\'s slums depresses even the finest of properties. Affinito has been allowed to turn once viable properties into rat infested slums. The Lucerne motel used to be called The Cal Ohio Resort back in the daay and was spic n\' span and had it\'s own coffee shop. The Sands was a beautiful and vibrant resort only 15 years ago.
It is time for the Board to act and rewrite a workable abatement ordinance and use it to run Affinito out of town. - dexterdog6481

thinking of the Lakeview Motel at the other end of town, down by 1st Ave? Have heard an earful from the folks that live in that hood - there are many monthly rentals there and that should not be, your either a TOT paying facility or a rental enterprise. They are supposed to be a motel. There should be no one at the Lake Sands but apparently Affinito has been allowed a \"caretaker\" to live at the Lucerne Motel. He does a grand job, eh  - Donna Christopher

Where should those

fees come from, The Geothermal owmers themselves. They are the ones who have caused Ms Fulton to be hired, therefore they should pay into a special fund set aside just for this action.; No fees, be it salary or otherwise, should come from the Geothermal Royalties. (That is what they pay us for having their plants, and money in their pockets.) They are the ones who have necessatated the hiring, let them and them alone pay.
As for the Lucerne properties, why do I always see cars parked in that little alley way and folks go in and out of the buildings? - OneFamily

those places looked better with the poorer element (now where living?)and he was fixing everything that needed correction with the rents while he waited for the development. The action taken was to make a show by CE? so he evicted the people that needed the low rent and complied, Just how much special attention has he recd due to pressure of the "someone" attempting to buy the property at a low price

How about the other eyesores maybe not on the main drag but definately to the neighbors, Including burnt bldgs.

Just once I would like to see long term decisions and a plan of what next. Maybe there should be some accountability for the number and show game. - max

Redevelopment has

eminent domain powers regarding commercial properties in the area of redevelopment. Use it or remove it from the redevelopment plan - it\'s like having hand gun and being to afraid to fire it. If you approach this town from the east and you lay eyes on these two festering sores you\'re gonna cover your childrens eyes and keep moving. Tear them down or fix them up. There are two developers holding this town hostage and at this stage it doesn\'t look like anyone is making it out fiscally alive. - Donna Christopher
