Which is it ? The history channel had a program with the same info.According to the program,Earth is heading into a cooling period.Spent two weeks in Alaska during the month of July.Everyone talked of the colder than normal weather.Agree Arnie should cut the crap and actually do something for the State.Sacramento came up with this stuff to actually get you to believe thay really care.Look at our World,no politician cares. - DDean

Strange. I was just reading an article about global temperatures having cooled over the past two years and the Arctic icepack regrouping 30% faster than last year. I really think that the Governors attention shoud be elsewhere at this time when California seems to be comming apart at the seams. - ron_b

Anthropogenic global warming

Only the truly uneducated now deny that anthropogenic global warming is a fact. Whether we should spend money preparing for it is another question. - drpmjhess

WHEREAS, the state is

facing a deficit of 128 BBBBBillion in 2010; and
WHEREAS we just sold a lot of bonds that will require payment back with interests; and
WHEREAS we ain\'t got it now and ain\'t gonna have in a year; therefore be it proclaimed that The Great State of California shall give to any and all citizens as much of the worthless paper the Government now possesses for use as shade, shelter and floatation devices as the people see fit.

Yes jmad, this planet has experienced many massive climate changes as part of it\'s nature. I cannot fathom that the extra however many billion people as of today have not compounded the Life Altering Event coming at us. We can argue its source but not the alacrity with which it approaches. Don\'t think we can argue over our being broke tho. - Donna Christopher

The Terminator Lost His Way

It is prudent to ensure future construction and state activity allows for extreme (and natural) variance in ocean level. Millions of years of planet history shows this to be the case. However, for this near bankrupt state to spend any time or money on anything to do with controlling greenhouse gases or buy into man made global warming in any way is complete nonsense and criminal. The gov\'s time should be spent figuring out how to beat the unions (teachers, prison guards, firefighters, etc.) that hold the state hostage and work on balancing the budget. To spend $$ on speculative unproven theories such as man induced global warming while such theories are losing favor in the world is very foolish (and unlike the terminator that we elected). - number1
