No Restitution

No restitution ordered by the judge. Hughes got on extra year for his part of injuring my grandson so that Hopkins didn\'t retry him for attempted murder. There is no healing for our family, no apology, nothing!!! Our thoughts are about Dale constantly, what will become of him and his life. It\'s not like being sentenced to 51 months. Dale is doing life with a traumatic brain injury. His conservator receives his disability and that is it. The Lake Co. Regional Center is seeking placement for him in another rehabilation center. He was hit, scratched and bruised in the rehab where he was. In all my dreams I could never image this happening to Dale. I love him so much and feel helpless in helping him.Pray for Dale. - Sunshine

in caring for your grandchild - he seems to be the one paying the price of the ill thought actions of others. May I ask, did the Judge order some type of restitution to be paid by Hughes? If so, then I hope Mr. Hughes gets it together and becomes a wage earner and restitution payer. I know that will not make your family whole again but Hughes needs to be constantly reminded of his actions. Your family will never forget. - Donna Christopher

Do your time

Hughes should just do his time and accept that a jury of his peers found him guilty. He was there, his blood was found in the house and my grandson is living with permanent brain damage. Dale is doing life and Hughes only got 51 months. Would he trade lives with Dale??? I don\'t think so. I watched as he got his sentence and found him to be cocky, arrogant and not taking any responibility for his part of the crime and all he could say was \"at least I\'m not getting life\". I wish he had been found guilty of all charges. - Sunshine
