These kids are amazing

As a Junior Livestock commitee member, swine leader and parent, I would like to send a huge thank you out to all of the parents and kids that brought there projects to the LC Fair this year. It was amazing to me how much these kids helped each other out and how when one of us adults needed something done, they did so willingly. Many out there don\'t know it, but once those animals hit the fairgrounds, the parents aren\'t allowed to help at all. We can\'t carry buckets, feed animals, or help clean the pens. If something is to heavy, an older member must step in. I can\'t put to words how impressed I was with these kids. One instance in particular stands out. My daughters hogs were squabling at feeding time. A FFA member took a pig board and seperated the hogs then stood in the pen until they were done eating so they didn\'t fight anymore. Amazing!!! So if you know of any 4-H or FFA members out there, ask how fair went, I\'m sure you\'ll get some great stories!! :D - marilee

Redneck, probably has duct taped a Coleman lantern to Obama\'s hand and set him out by the front walk to greet visitors.

NEWSFLASH: Barak Obama ABDUCTED from Lake County Fair.

Barak had spent the whole day on Thursday, Friday and Saturday greeting Fair patrons at the Democratic booth and posing for photo ops with them. The 6 foot 1 inch cardboard cutout disappeared overnight on Saturday. He is scheduled to appear with the Lake County Democrats at all of their functions before the election. He will be missed by his Democratic, Republican and Independent supporters. No ransom note has been received. The Secret Service declined to comment.

In an email response the chair of the Democratic Party of Lake County stated \"Clearly this despicable act is the work of those who are afraid. Afraid of the positive message of hope and change, the
clarion call of this November\'s election.

Our Democratic grassroots activists in Lake County can only feel sorrow and pity for people who would do such a petty meanspirited thing. No supporter of Senator Obama\'s would be so thoughtless and selfish as to deprive others of the joy and inspiration of seeing the Senator out on the campaign trail here in Lake County. We hope the kidnappers will come to their senses, and we await his return.\"

Barak can be returned with no questions asked by calling 274-8862, emailing lakecountydemocrats@lakecountydemocrats.org, or simply dropping him off at the Lake County Democratic office at 13th and Hwy 20 in Lucerne. His safe return will be appreciated by all of - dexterdog6481

Kudos To Our Kids

I had the pleasure of seeing the entries at the fair today and what a thrill to know the kids of our area are being trained to accept the responsibility of caring for their animals and earning some cash for college or other needs. Hats off to the adults who guide then as well.

Turkey herding

"Dustin Scott of Scotts Valley 4-H earned $400.00 for his grand champion turkey; he\'s pictured here maneuvering his turkey toward the auction ring."

Wow my turkey I had years ago would have followed me anywhere, was a problem keeping him from hopping into the truck when I was going out!

Great story and great kids doing this, we need more kids involved in healthy activities like this and not having time for drugs or gangs but spending time taking care of their pets and learning about life.
