As his wife/editor, I often accompany him when he\'s doing his reviews and can attest that he never informs a restaurant of his identity or reason for his visit, he never gives advance notice of his arrival, and he always pays [i]with gratutity[/i]. If he were to conduct himself in any other way it would defeat the purpose of giving an objective review. This wish to remain as anonymous as possible (in a small county) is the reason he doesn\'t have his picture attached to his column. I find the place to be no better than the one in town; downsized portions, elevated prices, flat beer and nothing special to write home about. We have also heard this from several other friends who were not impressed. Only the bar and airport viewing have not changed.
