A sigh of relief to know the City of Clearlake performs \"clean up\" from time to time.

I\'ve had my tow vehicle vandalized so many times while parked at Redbud Park, and always worried about far worse, while staying at one of the local motels.

Always see individuals wandering the streets while arriving here early in the morning for a scheduled bass tournament.

In reality, most would like to see much more done, but in the real world, what was done is by far better than nothing!

Would love to see more round ups!! :D - Tony

Police sweeps

Unfortunately at least ONE of those the police \"swept\" down on was not guilty of anything but a car that had late registration.
After about an hoiur of trying to justify the \"sweep\" all that was issued was a red tag on a car!
No arrests, no drugs, no warrants ...Nothing!! Very disappointing for the code enforcement officer who was so sure she \"had\" someone!!
What a waste of resources in a time where we need to budget them. I cannot see where that made Clearlake safer can you :?: ? - Momster50

Lornasue, and a good laugh for the day. I was gonna wear my tank top today but well, I didn\'t want to get busted by the fashion police.
So instead I put on a cute little polyester blouse with a peter pan collar and a circle pin. Think that\'ll pass muster?
All this to avoid offending the young valley-girl fashionistas who cringe when they see an old lady like me showing too much skin--ew, gross! (accompanied by barfing gesture)!
On a more serious note, I think it\'s good that the cops are out there doing what needs to be done, if we are to have a safe community. I don\'t have the courage to do what they do. - Fran

The party is all on overtime.
Too expensive in this climate/

Not including the gas.

Cheaper to test chemically all those on probation and parole than this - I wonder why no DA to suck from the public cash cow/ - CobbMt

I want to thank all of the men and women that are members of local law enforcement who took part in this sweep. It\'s nice to see that these EMPLOYED and self-sufficient individuals want to do something to make Clearlake a better place. - firegirl700

Lornasue,
Its so easy to be an
\"arm chair quarterback\" when your NOT involved in these type of operations.
Your spouting off, without knowledge of why the agencies that were there, were involved, make you look ignorant and uninformed. To quote a great line in the Movie \"A Few Good Men\". I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don\'t give a damn what you think you\'re entitled to! 8) - BlackMagic

I understand that the real purpose of such an accumulation of forces is to give them access to anyplace! If lornasue\'s dog is barking, Animal Control simple escorts everyone else onto her property, subjecting her private home to City, County, State, and Federal scrutiny!

Beware! ALWAYS object to their entry, and make them provide their reasons - then continue to object, and state that you are helpless to stop them. That will give you the best chances in court in the case of a legal problem.

I am all for law enforcement, but I also know that they often feel defeated or helpless by the privacy of a home. - 1175Brush

Law Enforcement Crap Shoot

Interesting that the Clearlake Police can draw together so many agencies in this massive sweep.

It is good to know that they are protecting the citizens of Clearlake from known gang members and sex offenders. However, what is the story with code enforcement? Has the line between crimes against victims and the victimless crimes (bad plumbing or too much junk stacked in your front yard) been totally dissolved?

And what is this about Animal Control? I think I would be very upset if my name was on the list between the convicted felon with hypodermic needle and a sex offender because my dog was barking.

Sounds to me like these boys need to decide on their priorities and leave code enforcement, fish and game and animal control to their own business.

Perhaps this effort was more about a show of force than serving and protecting our citizens.

Have a safe and sane 4th of July. Police yourself so these officers can take some time to regroup.

Perhaps next time they will include the fashion police and rid our streets old ladies in tank tops. - lornasue
