The current bill before the Senate purportedly to bail out mortgage holders is a total sham. It\'s really there to bail out Country Wide and their ilk and parts of it were actually written by Bank of America (Which bought out Country Wide) lobbyists.
I read that Moonbeam is planning to run for Governor again so expect him to keep a high profile. - ron_b

contracts they sign anymore? Perhaps they do not comprehend what they are signing? I read every bit of my first mortgage. It was then that I decided there must be a better deal down the road than the agreement I signed that would end up costing me over $250K to pay back a 40K loan. Course, interest rates were close to 12% then. When they got close to 6% we refinanced - but again the contract was read. I know these documents are not easy to read but for crying out loud - If It Sounds To Good To Be True - then it probably is. This mess was driven by the greed of all parties involved in it. BushCo may have set this one up, but it was the consumer who hit it out of the park. I\'m not sure the purpose of this suit, is Brown trying to help people keep their homes, trying to ding CountryWide or is this a \'hey look at me\' deal? Caveat Emptor folks - that hasn\'t changed in eons. - Donna Christopher

what office are you running for now? It wasn\'t just Countrywide who was doing this, they all were, and with Alan Greenspan asleep at the wheel there was no one to stop them. Bush 41 deregulated the banking industry and brought us crash #1, Bush 43 crashed the market with his hands-off approach to regulating the home mortgage industry as they attempted to commit sucicide - smurf
