Am I the only person that thinks the city of Lakeport is getting a kick back? Are the citizens paying more money for the service so the city can put money in their coffers were the taxpayers able to vote on this or is this the new government I\'ve come to know the last six years. Sounds like graft to me. - James

the consumer/citizens of Lakeport sounds like it may lie with a different franchise hauler. If the transfer station is a big money loser for the County then it does need to consider shutting it down. Yes, it is very convenient when we do our annual \"spring clean\" around here BUT with the state budget woes (how come these scenarios are the only ones where trickle down economic practices show up real quick) money is only going to get more scarce. Public safety trumps public convenience. - Donna Christopher
