35 miles per gallon car companies must work toward by 2020 doesn\'t mean 35/MPG for every car... It means the AVERAGE MPG of all the cars manufactured by the company must equal 35 MPG. That means that they can still make the 9 MPG Humvee and 9 MPG Dodge Ram and SUV\'s as long as they also make enough hybreds to balance it out. That is only up slightly from the 28 MPG average required today from those companies. - thekattb4u

no cigar. This bill includes roll backs of the taxbreaks/cuts W gave to his oil buddies. Even if it made it thru the Senate it wouldn\'t pass the veto pen. Bush has his priorities, health care for the kids of the working poor - NO WAY. Make the oil companies pay a portion of the obscene profits in taxes - NO WAY! I felt like barfing listening to Mitch McConnell tell me that \'this bill would hurt the Southeastern states\' without mentioning the peeps. Guess the oil giants already told him that they\'ve grown accustomed to the billions in quarterly profits so Kill This Bill Mitchie boy. Good boy, you really have this rollover stuff down to an art. - Donna Christopher
