The Lake County Water Works Association, in association with the Cobb Area Water District, invites all water managers, operators, and private enterprises operating water systems in Lake County to attend an open discussion of water-related issues on Friday, Nov. 30.

The meeting will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Board of Supervisors chamber in the Lake County Courthouse, 255 N. Forbes St., Lakeport.

Topics of discussion may include:

• Exchange of information concerning water tables, and lake level data, projected rainfall and lake inflow.

• Discuss both groundwater and lake water, including the necessary steps to maintain and improve water quality.

• Interact and exchange ideas on capital projects.

• Discuss pumping and treatment techniques.

• Discuss ever increasing state regulations and testing requirements.

• Discuss interaction with county departments such as roads, planning and water resources.

• Exchange information on inventories, including generators, repair parts, etc.

• Discuss the future of water needs of individual areas and overall county needs.

• Discuss the Integrated Water Management Memorandum of Understanding being proposed by the Water Resources Department.

• “Gripes” and/or other topics you wish to discuss with other water managers and operators.

The goal of this meeting is to allow water system managers and operators to build a basis for interaction.

Guests may include Board of Supervisors members and board of director members, but the goal of the forum will be to allow for an open and free exchange of thoughts, experience, and ideas of water managers and operators.

If successful another meeting will be scheduled in the spring of 2008, which would allow for discussions of both the upcoming dry season and evaluation of the past rainy season.
