If you're looking for a great "no fluff" car show with small town charm, live bands, $1 beer and terrific hospitality, check out the Kulture Shock Car Show in Lakeport on Saturday, June 23, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lake County Fairgrounds. This one-day event brings together 1964 and older TRADITIONAL style hot rods, customs, gassers and classics and has also added bobber-style motorcycles and vintage race cars to its show. A "no billet" show with a 1950s and 1960s style, it's sure to take you back in time when a guy's everyday driver was his best friend. Clubs from all over California will be showcasing their rides on the tree-lined streets and shaded grass areas as they visit, talk cars, hang out and enjoy the day. Live bands will be the backdrop for the show with music provided by three groups including the "Kustom Cuts" with their rock-a-billy sound, "The VibroCounts,” a surf-instrumental band from Sacramento and "The Band of Brothers" playing 1950s and 1960s rock n' roll to round out the show. Great food, vendors, event T-shirts, pin stripers, awesome raffle prizes and trophies will make for a memorable show. Same-day registration from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. is $25 per car with walk-in admission, $5 per person and children 6 and under free. |
