People across the political spectrum are encouraged to join Lake County Youth Action (LCYA) from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, at Lucerne Harbor Park for an open mike to discuss the causes and effects of war.
This event is part of a nationwide general strike, and organizers encourage people to call in sick for work, skip school and refuse to buy products from big corporations (especially Big Oil) so as to not only make a statement against war, but to protest the system that perpetuates it.
Organizers have scheduled a time that is both before school is over and after it ends so that students who do not wish to skip school can ride the school bus to the protest. Their goal is to get at least 200 people to show up.
