Sutter Lakeside Hospital will host an educational series entitled “Introduction to the Four Agreements,” which is based on the book “The Four Agreements” and other Toltec teachings of don Miguel Ruiz.

The Four Agreements state: 1) Be impeccable with your word; 2) Don’t take anything personally; 3) Don’t make assumptions; 4) Always do your best.

Although the agreements are simple truths, they are not always easy to put into practice. Participants will work together to master these agreements and learn to live them in their daily lives.

“Introduction to the Four Agreements” will be taught by Helen Turley and Norb Yates, former apprentices of don Miguel Ruiz.

Using the tools found in the Toltec teachings, Turley and Yates have found happiness and freedom in life by freely giving to others based on their respect and love for themselves and life as a whole.

Both Turley and Yates live in Lakeport and continue to study Toltec teachings today.

The five-class series will be on the first and third Monday nights of the month, starting on Sept. 21 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The series will take place at the Sutter Lakeside Hospital Healing House, just east of the main hospital building.

The fee for the class is $30 which includes all five sessions. A 50-percent discount is available for current SLH Wellness Center Members.
