The Ladies of the Lake Quilt Guild will meet on Saturday, April 7, in the Scotts Valley Women’s Clubhouse at 2298 Hendricks Road, Lakeport. The doors open at 9 a.m. and the meeting begins at 10 a.m. Come early to browse the quilt library, sign up for special events and socialize.

Jody Ohrt of Marysville, a sanctioned judge with the Northern California Quilt Council (www.ncqc.net), will speak about what to “know or expect when you enter your quilt for judging.” She will address quilt show class distinctions, such as innovative vs traditional, and she will discuss the things that a judge has to consider when reviewing entries. Ohrt will judge the Ladies of the Lake Quilt Guild’s Falling Leaves Quilt Show, which occurs the first weekend in October.

LLQG welcomes all quilters and prospective quilters to its meetings and events. Through a variety of programs and projects, the quilt guild members learn new skills and techniques, benefit the Lake County community and enjoy themselves immensely.
