The next meeting of the Chi Council for the Clear Lake hitch has been scheduled for 3PM on Thursday March 21 -- no Courthouse conference room is available at that time, so Watershed Coordinator Greg Dills has arranged for us to meet at the Ag Center, which is located next to the George Hoberg Vista Point at the intersection of Lakeshore Blvd and Highway 29 in Lakeport. Anyone unsure of the location is advised to download the map posted at http://www.lakelive.org/chicouncil/AgConRoom.pdf. So far this spring only one sighting of migrating hitch has been reported (in Hendricks Creek on February 22, at the very time of the last Council meeting), but the spawning run may have commenced in earnest by March 21: check out the Council website (http://www.lakelive.org/chicouncil) for details, or send an email to
