Arch Kottler, T’ai Chi instructor at the Sutter Lakeside Wellness Center, invites the public to participate in World T’ai Chi and Qigong Day on Saturday, April 26, from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Wellness Center, 5176 Hill Road East, Lakeport. To celebrate this event Kottler will hold a free, outdoor T’ai Chi class in the beautiful healing gardens adjacent to the Wellness Center and hospital. Spectators and T’ai Chi enthusiasts are welcome to join in the global health and healing celebration. Internationally, this event begins in New Zealand and will spread by time zones across the globe through 60 countries and across 6 continents. This healing “wave” is intended to promote calm and wellness worldwide. T’ai Chi and Qigong (Chi Kung) are health technologies evolved over several thousand years of research in China and are growing in popularity worldwide. They are used in hospitals, wellness centers, businesses, prisons, schools and other institutions. Research shows that T’ai Chi and Qigong have been shown to reduce anxiety, depression and chronic pain conditions. They boost the immune system, improve respiratory function, burn calories, dramatically improve balance, provide cardiovascular benefit, provide powerful stress management tools and slow aspects of the aging process. Mr. Kottler offers weekly T’ai Chi classes on Tuesdays from 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., and Thursdays from 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. at the Sutter Lakeside Wellness Center. |
Location: Sutter Lakeside Wellness Center, 5176 Hill Road East, Lakeport.
