The 28th annual Western States Seaplane Festival promises a weekend of spectacular sights, sounds and tastes at Lakeport’s Library Park and Dutch Harbor. Dozens of planes and thousands of spectators will converge on Clear Lake for an action - packed weekend filled with aerial demonstrations and lakefront entertainment for the entire family. Friday night, David Neft will perform a free concert at Library Park starting at 6 p.m. Bring a lawn blanket and enjoy a glass of fine Lake County wine under the stars. Saturday’s activities start at 9 a.m. with a breakfast hosted by the 4H Club at Natural High School and a Seaplane Display on the grounds. This display offers a rare chance for the public to get close to a seaplane, talk with the pilots and witness an exhibition of events sure to educate and entertain. Radio-controlled seaplane flights, a boat and water ski show, aerial demonstrations, and a parade of activities will be taking place throughout the day. Sunday morning, don’t miss the the seaplane fleet slipping into the waters of Clear Lake as pilots take off for home bases. This festival is the largest and oldest gathering gathering of seaplanes in the Western U.S. and is not to be missed.
