"Promises", nominated for an Academy Award, follows the journey of Israeli-American filmmaker BZ Goldberg as he meets and forms friendships with kids 9 - 11 in both Palestine and Israel. The resulting interviews are compelling, surprising and both heart-felt and informative.
Think you're tired of hearing about the on-going clashes in that part of the world? This documentary shows how children growing up in the middle of it all are affected -- and how some of them summon up the courage to meet the neighbors they've learned to hate -- on both sides. | Date: 3/9/08. Our venue is 14521 Pearl Ave. near Mullen in Clearlake. Doors open at 5:30 for grabbing a seat and a snack, and socializing. Our film starts at 6 PM, and is followed by generous time to hang out and discuss the film. |
