Second Sunday Cinema launches its second year of free, well-made, important, & informative films with "9/11: The Myth and the Reality". Last year SSC screened one film on the tragedy of 9/11. That film focused on the impossible physics of the collapse of the three World Trade Center Towers (1,2, and 7).

This month's film calmly and soberly examines nine "myths" or falsehoods about the tragic events of that day, demonstrating how they are unsupported by facts.

The film features David Ray Griffin, with accompanying archival film and graphics, as he spoke to the highly respectable Commonwealth Club in SF on 4/3/06, and at the Grand Lake Theater in Oakland. Dr. Griffin is Emeritus Prof. of Philosophy of Religion and Theology at the Claremont School of Theology. He is the author of 4 books on 9/11. Asked why he would delve so deeply into the data on 9/11, he replied that as a Christian, he had a high regard for the truth.

Shannon T, who previews the entirety of every film for SSC, and who has seen many films on 9/11, found this documentary very gripping, believable and well-supported by facts.

As Dr. Griffin emphasizes, this is not a "conspiracy theory" film. There are no accusations as to who did what. This film simply demolishes the "answers" commonly provided at this time, and says, let's find out what really happened. This is truly a don't-miss movie.
